Mystershirt Review 2026: Are the Mystery Football Shirt Boxes Worth It?
Mystershirt sends one authentic football shirt in a sealed box, and you do not choose the club. We checked the prices, shipping, returns and customer reviews.

Short verdict: Mystershirt is a real Belgian company that sends one authentic football shirt, with labels, in a sealed box. You do not choose the club. The price is fair for a genuine shirt, the 100-day return window is generous, and the main risk is slow delivery outside Europe. We rate it 4.0 out of 5.
How we wrote this review: we read Mystershirt's product pages, FAQ and return terms, checked the live prices on 29 September 2026 and read customer reviews. We have not ordered a box ourselves, so we do not judge the fabric or the fit from our own hands.
What is Mystershirt?
Mystershirt sells football shirts as a surprise. You pick a box type and a size, and the team picks the shirt. The company says it buys shirts in large quantities from clubs, brands and manufacturers, and that is how a box can cost less than the same shirt in a club shop.
The store says it has more than 100,000 customers and more than 300,000 shirts unboxed. Shirts are picked by hand in a 500 m² warehouse with more than 30,000 shirts, and orders leave from three warehouses.
How the mystery box works
- Choose a box: Premium, Retro, Kids, Training, Festival, or a bundle.
- Choose your size. Sizes run from children's sizes to adult 5XL. Mystershirt says the fit is normal, so order your usual T-shirt size.
- Write the clubs, leagues or colours you do not want in the text box. This field is for exclusions only. A request for a specific club is ignored.
- Pay and wait. Orders placed before 4:00 PM are shipped the same day.
Boxes and prices
Prices below are from the Mystershirt site on 29 September 2026, in euros. The "list price" is the store's own reference price, not a price we saw charged elsewhere.
| Box | Price | List price | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium Football Shirt Mystery Box | from €39.95 | €94.95 | One shirt from a recent season |
| Premium with Name and Number | €59.95 | €119.95 | Same shirt with a player print on the back |
| 26-27 Season Mystery Box | €59.95 | €99.95 | One shirt from the 2026/27 season, sizes M to XL |
| Retro Football Shirt Mystery Box | from €89.95 | €114.95 | One shirt from an earlier era |
| Kids Football Shirt Mystery Box | €44.95 | €79.95 | One shirt in a junior size |
| Training Shirt Mystery Box | €39.95 | €54.95 | One official training top |
| Festival Mystery Box | €44.95 | €89.95 | One colourful shirt, sizes XS to 4XL |
| Premium Bundle Box | €74.95 | €199.90 | Two Premium shirts, about €37.50 each |
| Premium Hattrick Bundle | €119.85 | €299.85 | Three Premium shirts, €39.95 each |
| Football Short Mystery Pack | €14.95 | €39.95 | Football shorts |
A new club shirt usually costs €80 to €100 in a club shop. At €39.95 the Premium box is about half of that. The saving is real only if you are happy with a club you did not choose.
Are the shirts authentic?
Mystershirt states that every shirt is authentic and arrives with its labels attached. In the customer reviews we read, authenticity is one of the points buyers praise most.
Two points to keep in mind:
- "Recent season" does not mean "this season". Many shirts are from one or two seasons ago. If you want the newest kit, the 26-27 Season box is the one that promises it.
- You can receive a small club or a foreign league. Reviews mention shirts from clubs such as LA Galaxy and a West Ham goalkeeper shirt. Some buyers love this, some do not.
Shipping
Mystershirt ships worldwide with tracking. The store quotes 1 to 4 days for express delivery in Europe and 1 to 30 days for the rest of the world. Tracking can take 2 to 3 business days to show the first update.
Orders inside the EU have no customs charges. Buyers in other countries can be asked to pay import fees on arrival, and the amount depends on the country.
Delivery is the weakest part of the service. Most negative reviews we read are about parcels outside Europe that took much longer than expected. If the box is a gift for a fixed date, order at least three weeks early.
Returns and refunds
You have 100 days from delivery to return or exchange a shirt, and Mystershirt does not ask for a reason. Returns go through the online return portal. Refunds are usually paid 3 to 5 business days after the store receives the shirt.
Return postage is your cost, unless the mistake is Mystershirt's, for example a wrong or damaged item. In that case the store pays the postage back after it checks the return.
If you ordered the wrong size, contact the store quickly. The size can be changed only before the order is shipped.
What customers say
On its own site Mystershirt shows a rating of 4.3 out of 5. On Trustpilot the score was 3.8 out of 5 from about 2,000 reviews when we checked on 10 September 2026, with around three in four reviews at four or five stars.
Common praise: the unboxing, the labels on the shirt, fast delivery inside Europe, and shirts from clubs the buyer would never have picked.
Common complaints: slow delivery outside the EU, and a shirt from a club the buyer did not like.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Authentic shirts with labels, at about half the usual shop price
- 100-day return and exchange window
- Exclusion list keeps rival clubs out of your box
- Same-day dispatch before 4:00 PM, no customs inside the EU
- Many payment methods, including PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay, iDeal and Bancontact
Cons
- You cannot choose the club or the season
- Delivery outside Europe can take weeks, and import fees can apply
- You pay the return postage when the shirt is simply not to your taste
- The list prices make the discounts look larger than they are in practice
Who should buy a Mystershirt box?
A good choice for: collectors who like unusual clubs, people who need a gift for a football fan, and groups who want to open boxes together.
Not a good choice for: fans who want one specific club, and buyers outside Europe who need the shirt by a fixed date.
Tips before you order
- Fill in the exclusion box. It is free and it is the only control you have.
- Buy a bundle if you want more than one shirt. Each shirt is packed in its own box.
- Order two or more boxes to get the free gifts the store offers at the moment.
- Keep the labels on until you are sure you will keep the shirt.
Our rating
| Area | Score |
|---|---|
| Product authenticity | 4.5 / 5 |
| Price | 4.0 / 5 |
| Shipping | 3.5 / 5 |
| Returns | 4.5 / 5 |
| Overall | 4.0 / 5 |
Mystershirt does what it promises: a genuine shirt, a fair price and a long return window. It loses points for delivery outside Europe.
