Privacy policy

What we collect

• Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, referring site, approximate location (country and city), device type, browser and operating system.
• Device identifier: a browser fingerprint (computed from your browser and device characteristics) used to count unique visitors and to attribute clicks to stores, plus a device signature (screen size, platform, graphics card model, CPU cores, timezone) used to group browsers on the same device. Both are created on every visit, independent of the cookie banner. Neither can be reversed into your identity.
• IP address and connection: your IP address is stored as-is together with connection details (network operator, VPN, proxy or datacenter detection, approximate location from the IP, browser and device details, timezone and language). We keep this for 13 months on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the site and in disputing invalid advertising clicks with the ad platforms that bill us. It is never used for advertising to you.
• Information you give us: your email if you subscribe to the newsletter, and your name, email and comment text if you leave a comment.

How we use it

To understand which content is useful, to keep our reviews accurate, to prevent abuse, to send the newsletter you asked for and to display the comments you post.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation and our own first-party analytics. In the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, Google Analytics cookies are set only after you click “Accept all”. Elsewhere they are on by default, and you can switch them off at any time by choosing “Essential only” in the cookie settings or through your browser settings.

Affiliate networks

When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or its network may set cookies to attribute a purchase to us. Their privacy policies apply to that data.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email. You can request access to or deletion of your data by emailing hello@lyfestic.com.

Retention

Raw analytics events, visit records and click records are deleted automatically after 13 months. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Comments are kept until you ask us to remove them.
