ENGWE UK Review 2026: Are These Folding E-Bikes Worth It?

Short verdict: ENGWE UK sells folding fat-tire e-bikes and commuter e-bikes in pounds, shipped free from a UK warehouse with no customs to pay. Prices on sale are well below the list prices shown on each product page, but a change-of-mind return costs £200 per bike, and the newest reviews are still on the store's older domain. We rate it 3.8 out of 5.

How we wrote this review: we used ENGWE UK's own product pages, prices from uk.engwe.com's product data, and its shipping, returns and warranty pages, checked on 29 September 2026. We have not ordered from ENGWE UK ourselves, so we cannot describe how a bike rides or how a repair claim is handled in practice.

What is ENGWE UK?

ENGWE UK, at uk.engwe.com, is the United Kingdom store of ENGWE, a company that makes folding electric bikes with fat tires. The range includes folding fat-tire bikes such as the EP-2 3.0 Boost and Engine Pro 3.0 Boost, the P275 SE and Zip commuter bikes, the L20 3.0 step-through bikes, and the E26 fat bike. Prices are shown in pounds, orders ship from a UK warehouse, and the checkout offers card payment, PayPal, Clearpay, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Two-bike combo bundles are also sold, for households buying more than one bike. Some models, including the N1 Air, N1 Pro, P20, LE20, M20 and T14, were out of stock on the site when we checked.

Build, sizes and warranty

ENGWE UK's bikes are folding designs with fat or wide tires, aimed at commuting and light off-road use. The store's warranty page sets these periods: 12 months on the frame, fork, motor, battery, controller, display and wiring; 6 months on lights, kickstand, fenders, racks, pedals, chain, derailleur and hubs; 3 months on the saddle, plastics, brake rotors, pads and cables; and 1 month on tyres. Crash damage and any modification to the bike are excluded from warranty. ENGWE UK also sells an extended warranty, which must be added to the same order as the bike and cannot be bought on its own later.

Payment options

The checkout accepts cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, plus Clearpay and Klarna, which split the price into instalments. Splitting a bike over several instalments does not change the total price, and buyers should check the instalment provider's own terms and any late fees before choosing this option.

Shipping

Orders ship free from ENGWE's UK warehouse, and a few accessories ship from abroad and can take longer. Processing takes 1 to 2 business days, and delivery takes 3 to 10 business days after that. Because the bike leaves a UK warehouse, there is no import duty or customs handling to pay on arrival. Tracking is emailed once the order is dispatched. Pre-order bikes show their own shipping date on the product page, and once a parcel has shipped its delivery address cannot be changed.

Returns and refunds

ENGWE UK gives 30 days from delivery to request a return, but the buyer must email service2@engwe-bikes.com first; a parcel sent back without that approval is refused. To qualify, the bike must be unused, showing under 10 km on its display, in the original box with charger, keys and hardware, and with proof of purchase. If the bike itself is fine and the return is simply a change of mind, ENGWE deducts £200 per e-bike or £100 per battery from the refund, and only unused batteries can be returned. Cancelling an order before it ships costs 5% of the order value; cancelling or refusing it after it has shipped costs £200. A faulty, damaged or wrong item can be exchanged or refunded within 30 days, though the policy still keeps a £100 shipping charge on faulty returns. After 30 days, problems go through the warranty instead of a return. Returns are sent to a warehouse in Stryków, Poland. Sale accessories, custom orders and free gifts that came with an order are not returnable.

What customers say

Trustpilot did not return a score for uk.engwe.com when we checked on 29 September 2026. The store's database rating, carried over from a check on 14 September 2026, uses the 4.3 out of 5 score from 156 reviews on ENGWE's previous UK domain, engwe-bikes-uk.com. In that set, about 85% of reviews were five stars, mentioning build quality and ride comfort, while about 10% were one star, mentioning parts failing, slow repairs and disputes over refunds. Because this score sits on an older domain, treat it as background rather than a live measure of the current site.

Who should buy ENGWE UK?

ENGWE UK is a reasonable choice for a UK buyer who wants a folding fat-tire or step-through e-bike at a lower price than many mainstream brands, is comfortable buying online without a test ride, and is confident about their choice before ordering. It is a weaker choice for someone who wants to change their mind easily after delivery, since that costs £200, or someone who needs same-week local support for a repair, since parts issues go through email and, for older units, a warranty claim rather than a shop visit.

Tips before you order

• Check the compare-at (list) price on the product page against the price you are charged, so you know how large the saving is on the day you order.
• Read the size and weight limit for the model you want, since folding bikes vary in maximum rider weight.
• Keep the box, charger, keys and all hardware for at least 30 days in case you need to request a return.
