ENGWE DE Review 2026: Is Germany's ENGWE Store Worth It?

Short verdict: ENGWE DE is the German-language storefront for ENGWE e-bikes and scooters, with the same euro prices as the main ENGWE store but a German phone line, German checkout and a repair-shop map. Delivery is free and takes 7 to 10 business days, and the return terms on the site today are tighter than the friendly picture ENGWE gives in its FAQ pages. We rate it 3.8 out of 5.

What is ENGWE DE?

ENGWE DE (de.engwe.com) is the German version of the ENGWE e-bike and e-scooter store. It sells the same range as the main ENGWE store, in euros, but with a German-language site, a German-speaking phone line and a map of partner repair shops in Germany. ENGWE also sells the Y700 ABE scooter here, a version with German road approval that is not offered on every ENGWE store.

The company ships from EU warehouses in France and Poland, not from Germany, so ENGWE DE is really a localised front end for the same European stock and the same prices as engwe.com.

ENGWE's own store description also lists carbon models such as the N1 Air and N1 Pro and the P20 folder at lower price points, but these were not among the products we could confirm on the site today, so we have left them out of the table rather than guess a current price.

Payment and checkout

ENGWE DE's home page today advertises "buy now, pay later" with Klarna and PayPal. Store information from 14 September 2026 also lists cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and others), Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment options, so most shoppers should find their usual method at checkout.

Shipping

Orders ship free by DPD from ENGWE's EU warehouses in France and Poland, and the site's own shipping page (checked 29 September 2026) states delivery to Germany in 7 to 10 business days after 1 to 2 business days of processing. Tracking is emailed once the order ships, and the site points customers to 17track to follow the parcel. Islands and other remote areas are excluded from delivery. Some accessories ship separately and can take longer than the bike or scooter itself. A parcel that has already shipped cannot be stopped or redirected free of charge, so buyers should double check the delivery address before paying.

Returns and refunds

ENGWE DE's refund policy page, checked on 29 September 2026, sets a 14-day return window from delivery. The item must be unused and in its original packaging, and a 25% restocking fee applies; the customer pays shipping in both directions. Written approval from ENGWE is required before sending anything back, and some items are excluded from returns and exchanges altogether. Exchanges are not offered for international orders, though a store credit or refund can be used to reorder.

Separately, ENGWE's own FAQ pages, checked on 14 September 2026, describe a different process specifically for e-bikes: a 30-day window, the bike unused with under 10 km on the display, and a flat €200 shipping and handling deduction per e-bike (€100 per unused battery) rather than a percentage fee, with returns going to a warehouse in Stryków, Poland. Because the two descriptions do not match, we recommend emailing service.de@engwe.com before ordering to confirm which terms apply to a specific bike or scooter, and always email for approval before sending anything back. Items that arrive faulty, damaged or wrong are replaced or refunded in full either way. Cancelling an order is free as long as it is done before dispatch, which is normally on the third business day.

Warranty

According to ENGWE's warranty page, checked on 14 September 2026, cover runs for 12 months on the frame, fork, motor, battery, controller, display and wiring; 6 months on lights, kickstand, fenders, racks, pedals, chain, derailleur and hubs; 3 months on the saddle, plastic parts, brake rotors, pads and cables; and 1 month on tyres. At that time, the L20 3.0 Pro and EP-2 3.0 Boost shipped with a free extra year of warranty, and a paid 12-month extension could be added to an order. These are shorter cover periods than some competing e-bike brands offer, so it is worth checking the current terms on the product page before buying.

What customers say

de.engwe.com does not have its own Trustpilot profile. ENGWE's earlier German domain, engwe-bikes.de, had a Trustpilot score of 4.6 out of 5 from 80 reviews, checked on 14 September 2026. At that time, 86% of reviews were five stars, mentioning build quality, price and fast delivery, while 8% were one star, mentioning defects on arrival, slow after-sales handling and the lack of a German service centre. Because this score belongs to a previous domain rather than de.engwe.com itself, it is a useful signal but not a direct rating of the current store.

ENGWE DE is a reasonable choice for German shoppers who want an e-bike or scooter in euros with German-language support and phone help, and who are comfortable ordering online without trying the bike first. It suits buyers who want the Y700 ABE scooter with German road approval, since that model is not available everywhere. It is a less good choice for anyone who is not sure they will keep the bike, since the return terms are strict and, on this evidence, inconsistently described; buyers who value a very fast delivery window or who want a long warranty on wear parts should also compare other options first.

Tips before you order

• Email service.de@engwe.com before ordering to ask which return terms apply to the exact model, and get the answer in writing.
• Check current stock and price on the product page, since some models come and go and sale prices change.
• Keep the original box, charger, keys and all hardware in case a return is needed.
• Unbox and check the bike or scooter as soon as it arrives, and report any fault well within the return window.
• Confirm your address is correct before paying, since a shipped parcel cannot be redirected for free.
