We may earn a commission when you buy through links in this article. This does not affect our opinions or ratings. How we make money.

Quick answer: Pick the Travel Backpack (USD 159.90) if you want a bag you wear on your back, with a laptop sleeve, a hidden passport pocket and a hip belt. Pick the Weekender Classic (USD 139.90) if you want more room, a shoe compartment and a bag that opens flat, and you do not mind carrying it by handle or on a trolley.

How we wrote this comparison: we read the Concept Global product pages, shop listings and policies, and checked the live prices on 21 October 2026. We have not used these products ourselves, so everything below is what the store lists or claims, not our own test results. Where the store does not state something, we say so.

Price and value

On 21 October 2026 the store lists the Travel Backpack at USD 159.90. Its list (compare-at) price is USD 169.90. The Weekender Classic is listed at USD 139.90, with a list price of USD 149.90. These are one-time prices. The store also sells bundles, but we compare the single bags here.

The gap is USD 20 at the current price and USD 20 at the list price. The Backpack costs about 14 percent more. Prices exclude sales tax, and international orders may carry customs duties that the buyer pays.

What does the extra USD 20 buy? The Backpack adds a laptop sleeve, a passport pocket, a zipper lock and a hip belt. The Weekender gives you a larger stated volume and a shoe compartment for less money. Which one is better value depends on what you carry.

Capacity and carry-on size

The Travel Backpack measures 50 x 33 x 24 cm when closed. It can expand to 30 cm deep. That gives you a bag that grows when you pack more. The brand claims it "fits carry-on limits on most airlines". That is the brand's claim. Airlines set their own limits and they change, so check your airline before you fly, especially when the bag is expanded.

The Weekender Classic is listed as 50 L. We did not find outer dimensions or weight in our sources, so we cannot say how it compares with airline cabin limits. The store does not make a carry-on claim for it in the information we have. Check the product page for sizes before you buy.

The store does not state a litre size for the Backpack in our sources. We will not guess one. The closed size is the safest number to work from.

Backpack or duffel: which carries better?

The Travel Backpack has backpack straps and a tuck-away hip belt. A hip belt moves some weight from your shoulders to your hips, which many people like on long walks through stations and airports. You can tuck it away when you do not need it. It also has a luggage strap, so you can slide it over the handle of a rolling suitcase.

The Weekender Classic is built as a garment bag and duffel in one. It has a trolley sleeve, so it can ride on a suitcase handle too. The store does not list backpack straps for it. Expect to carry it by hand or on the shoulder. With 50 L of space, a full bag can get heavy, so think about how far you walk with it.

If you often walk, take trains or climb stairs, the Backpack looks more comfortable on paper. If most of your trip is car, taxi and hotel, the Weekender's carry style matters less.

Laptop, passport and shoes

Laptop

The Backpack has a 16-inch laptop sleeve. The Weekender Classic has no laptop sleeve in the features we found. If you travel for work, this point alone may decide it.

Passport and security

The Backpack has a hidden RFID passport pocket and a carabiner zipper lock. RFID pockets are a feature the brand lists. We cannot say how well they work in daily use. The Weekender lists YKK zippers, which are a known zipper brand, but no passport pocket or lock in our sources.

Shoes and clothes

The Weekender has a shoe compartment, so shoes stay apart from clothes. Because it works as a garment bag and opens flat, you can lay out shirts and jackets and see everything at once. The Backpack opens in a 180-degree clamshell, which also gives you full access, but the store does not list a separate shoe compartment for it.

Materials and weather

Both bags use water-resistant coated material. The Backpack uses a coated fabric. The Weekender uses coated nylon. Water-resistant is not the same as waterproof. Both should handle light rain, but you should not expect them to survive heavy rain with the zippers open. The store does not give a fabric weight or denier for either bag in our sources.

Which one for a weekend trip?

For two or three nights, both work. The Weekender suits a weekend best: 50 L is room for clothes, a pair of shoes and a toiletry bag, and the flat opening makes it easy to pack and unpack. It is also USD 20 cheaper.

The Backpack suits a weekend if you want to keep your hands free and carry a laptop. Its closed size is 50 x 33 x 24 cm, so you will pack lighter, but that is fine for a short trip.

Which one for longer travel?

For a week or more, the Backpack's expansion to 30 cm and its hip belt help. You can add things on the way and still carry the bag comfortably. The passport pocket and zipper lock also fit busy places like stations and hostels.

The Weekender gives more stated volume, but a heavy duffel can be tiring over many days. It makes more sense if you pair it with a suitcase and use the trolley sleeve. The store also sells a Roller version of the weekender line; it was sold out on 19 October, so we do not cover it here.

Delivery, returns and warranty

We found no differences between the two products on these points. The store says shipping is free on orders over USD 90, so both bags qualify. In the US, the store gives 2 to 7 business days, plus 1 to 3 business days for handling. From international warehouses, it states 6 to 12 business days, and elsewhere in the world 5 to 20 business days. Duties and taxes are not included.

The store offers a 99-day money-back policy. You have 99 days from receiving the order to ask for a refund or replacement. For a change of mind, the bag must be unused and in its original condition, and you pay the return postage. If an item is defective, damaged or wrong, the store pays return shipping. The store says it charges no restocking fees. Contact support first with your order number.

Both bags come with a 2-year limited warranty. It covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, such as seams, hardware and zippers. It does not cover normal wear, accidents or misuse. The store may repair, replace or refund at its choice.

Who should buy the Travel Backpack

  • People who commute or travel for work and need a 16-inch laptop sleeve.
  • Travellers who walk a lot and want straps and a hip belt.
  • Anyone who wants a hidden passport pocket and a zipper lock.
  • Those who want a single carry-on sized bag, after checking their airline's limits.

Who should buy the Weekender Classic

  • People who take short trips by car, train or plane and want more space.
  • Anyone who wants a separate shoe compartment.
  • Travellers who need to bring suits or dresses and like a garment bag.
  • Buyers who want to spend USD 20 less and already own a suitcase with a handle.

Our verdict

For a worker or an everyday traveller: choose the Travel Backpack. The laptop sleeve, passport pocket and hip belt are the clear gains, and the price gap is small.

For a weekend away or a trip with dress clothes and shoes: choose the Weekender Classic. It offers more stated space, a shoe compartment and a lower price.

For a long trip on foot: choose the Backpack. For a long trip with a rolling suitcase, the Weekender can work as the second bag.

Both come with the same 99-day money-back policy and 2-year limited warranty, so the risk is similar. Remember that we have not used either bag. Check the product page for the latest sizes and prices before you order.
